Kappa League
The Wake Forest Rolesville (NC) Alumni Chapter Guide Right program has been in existence since 2015. The chapter has focused their vision on enhancing their Kappa League program with tools and resources to uplift our young men in today’s society. In 2016, we inducted six young men into our inaugural Kappa League class. Currently, the Kappa League program has young men ranging from grades 9-12 that meet monthly in Wake Forest, NC. Although the pandemic has slowed the momentum, we still believe the program is rewarding and successful with several opportunities for bonding and growth for young males.
The current goal is to have a program consisting of at least 20 young men. Some of our core session meetings have included: Dress with Klass, Goal Setting, Grooming, and Entrepreneurship.
The Kappa League has participated in several events in the area. Just to name a few:
1. At the Town of Wake Forest mayor’s request, the Wake Forest Rolesville Kappa Leaguers led the opening pledge for the Town of Wake Forest town hall meeting.
2. Two of the inaugural Kappa Leaguers are now in their third year at the following universities: North Carolina A&T and North Carolina Central University.
3. Kappa Leaguers participated in the Need to Feed food pantry at New Bethel Baptist Church. The event is geared to those in need while preparing their Thanksgiving dinner.
4. Attended Saint Augustine’s University homecoming game as guest of President Dr. Edward Ward.
5. Kappa Leaguers were VIP escorts for the play “History of Gospel Music”. The play was composed of local church choirs. The master of ceremony was Melissa Wade from “The Light” 103.9 FM.
